Officer's Main Page » Member Code of Conduct

This is Soymilk's basic member behavior code for all members. Please read carefully and post any questions you have. All of these guidelines are mandatory and will get you a warning from an officer if you choose to not follow them.

General Guidelines

Be respectful of others. Please understand that everyone who comes deserves at least your respect. We are not asking you to be friends or even like all the other members but we do ask that you keep your own issues and drama outside of the LS. If you do not like a member that is your own issue. We try our best to accommodate you in not putting you in the same party or alliance with people you don't like, but if you do get put together we ask that you be polite and respectful.

Maintain a professional atmosphere. Bring the proper meds and equipment that would be expected in an experience party at your level and job. Bring appropriate subjobs and be sure to be able to fill your responsibilities to the best of your capacity. Know what is expected of all the jobs you may be asked to bring and review all and any guides posted in the strategy section that pertain to you. Failing to do this is a tremendous disrespect to your fellow shell members.

Listen to directions. Read through any strategy posts, be sure to listen to linkshell chat during runs and please hold camps and maintain distance from the other alliances when asked to.

Never run ahead of pullers, never wander off and never use the /follow command. If you need to go AFK inform your alliance and ask if it is safe to stand there. Do not go AFK while resting as this may attract hate on pulls and make mobs go in the wrong direction.

Once you enter put your hourglass up for 1 gil. If you are a party leader remind and check your party and say in linkshell chat that you have checked your hourglasses. This is a safety measure, if you are dead and we have 3 minutes left in our timer we will buy you out to make the last few coins and items drop. If you fall asleep or leave on an emergency and are in an unsafe spot we will buy you out and then pull you back in when it is safe. Do not ever buy anyone's hourglass unless asked to do so, it is not funny and wastes the linkshell's time.

If you have questions make sure they are questions, we do not tolerate threats or whining. "If you don't fix this now I'll leave" or anything of the sort will get you a warning. Do not spend runs sending tells to officers about thing you don't like or about what they should do or not do. If you have concerns use the forums.

Officers are not your employees, do not treat them as such. They deserve to have fun during runs too.

Try to have fun. It's still a game, be sure you are enjoying yourself. If you have ideas of fun stuff to do feel free to post and see if maybe we can include the rest of the linkshell in a fun event.

Linkshell and Party Chat

First and foremost disable all unnecessary party, linkshell or emote comments from all macros you will use in dynamis. Make a row of macros for dynamis if you need to. The excess chatter simply creates lag and distracts people from seeing actual information that is important.

Once linkshell chat is closed do not use it. This includes not saying anything when you enter late and waiting to make sure it is okay to talk. Once lots start only officers can use the linkshell chat. Once the run begins, only officers, pullers, burn leaders, tanks are allowed to use linkshell chat.

We ask that all members refrain from cussing or vulgarity in LS and party chat. We are tolerant of a joke here and there and also of word slipping out at a bad moment, but don't make it a habit. This shows not only respect for others but it helps us keep drama out of the shell and keeps our focus where it needs to be.

Use shouts to congratulate a member on drops. Also feel free to use emotes and /say to let others around you know that you need help (particularly mages not in the main mage alliance who need help sleeping or healing)

Do not use party chat to cause undue stress or drama. Do not make jokes at other's expense. We want you to chat and joke and have fun, but be careful of what you say and be considerate.

Be ready to quiet down if things get tough or there are specific directions in linkshell chat. When linkshell chat is closed, so is party chat unless it is related to whatever is being discussed in linkshell chat.

Points, Attendance and Lotting

Points cannot be contested on the day of a run. If you have any issues take care of them before or after the day of the run. We simply cannot go through and review all your points 15 minutes before starting.

Attendance cannot be contested on the day of a run. Same reason as above.

You can only secure a lot for 1 item per run. Although, you can lot as many free lots as you are eligible during a run.

Whining, Threats and General Malcontent

If you have questions make sure they are questions, we do not tolerate threats or whining. "If you don't fix this now I'll leave" or anything of the sort will get you a warning. Do not spend runs sending tells to officers about thing you don't like or about what they should do or not do. If you have concerns use the forums. I know I said this above but it needs to be repeated.

Thanks for all you help and support,
Rath
