The following is a responsibility description of a new officer position. These officers will be payed by how many new members they mentor, by contributions to their respective job guide and by general training sessions done and amount of people trained per session. Please post if interested. You may mentor as many job classes as you feel comfortable with. Current officers may also mentor alongside their current responsibilities if they feel up to it.
Responsibilities:
- New member training:
- By membership officer assignment, mentors will work with trial members during their first month in the linkshell.
- Mentors will introduce themselves and explain that you will do the following:
- Answer any questions.
- Observe them during the next month.
- Send them tells with pointers or things to watch for.
- Report whether you accept or decline their full membership by the end of their trial period.
- Offer the new member to add you to their friendlist in case any questions arise regarding the shell or how we do things.
- Show them where the strategy guides are and ask them to read the guides that apply to their particular roles. Verify that they have read.
- With members with little to medium experience in dynamis also ask them to meet you at a convenient time (easier if it is before or after a run) and go over each of the points on the guide and make sure they actually understand what it means and are willing to follow it.
- Tell them you are willing to take any suggestions they have and communicate them to the proper officer. If they have suggestions, please pass them along or explain why we do that particular thing the way we do.
- If possible have your trial member assigned to your party or alliance where you can keep an eye on them. You can request this from party setup officers.
- Observe your new member carefully during the next month and make sure they are following and understand everything they need to do during runs.
- Before the end of their trial period you must communicate with the membership officer and express whether you accept or decline this member's full membership.
- Preparing relevant strategy guides:
- Mentors need to review and maintain accurate and relevant guides for their particular job or role:
- These guides must include:
- A small introduction which lists all the possible roles this job must perform and speaks of the importance of each role.
- A list of recommended spells and macros. Mention that macros cannot have party chat lines in them unless it is vital for party members to know what you are doing.
- A list of abilities and when it is beneficial to use them or if they should be saved for particular moments.
- A list of useful gear to have and when to use it.
- A section about each of the roles mentioned in the introduction and when and how it is done. Insert any tips, tricks or useful information you can think of that can help fulfill this role. If relevant insert images and graphs. Include any variation in these roles that is seen depending on zone.
- Organizing general training sessions:
- General training sessions should be done at least once every 6 months, with a maximum of once every 3 months. General training sessions should be done if you see need or if requested by any member or officer.
- General training sessions can be done in any format needed and must go over all of the points covered in the strategy guide. Any additional information discussed during the session should be added to the guide if the guide is lacking any specifics that were brought up.
- Coordinate times and dates that will allow all, or at least most most members to attend. You may need to setup 2 separate times and dates to reach all members.
- While anyone who comes as a particular job class is required to attend, training sessions are open to all LS members who wish to attend.
